in 1991, CBPP had its origins in the appearance in 1984 of
the journal Ethics and Medicine and a series of conferences
and publications on key questions in medical ethics. Its focus
is on the relations of bioethics and public policy, with a
special interest in the enduring relevance to contemporary
questions of the Hippocratic oath.
